A USER'S GUIDE TO HDTV (High Definition Television Interference Scenario Model) 1 Introduction The HDTV program allows the user to create scenarios of interference generated by any mix of NTSC and DTV stations in a given area. The program maintains a catalog of DTV and NTSC stations based upon existing entries in the FCC TV database as well as a catalog for each user of the program. The user selects the desired and undesired stations from these catalogs to create a scenario. Scenario options include; 1 - Examine a single station coverage. Coverages for each station include; a. Longley Rice 50/50 b. Longley Rice 50/90 c. Longley Rice 50/10 d. FCC Curves 50/50 e. FCC Curves 50/90 2 - Examine the interference generated by a set of undesired stations upon the coverage of a single or list of desired station(s). 3 - Create a composite plot of a set of stations or a region such as an entire state or set of states. The user can examine the catalog of NTSC and DTV stations generated from the existing FCC allotment table and existing FCC TV database but cannot modify any of these stations. The user can examine, add or delete stations from his user catalog. The user can browse catalogs by state, call sign, city or channel and can sort the list by these options. The user can display the data for a station that was used in creating that stations coverages listed above.
